Help from the RoseThe White Rose Ministries is run by a layperson...that is a person who has no special training above and beyond basic Lutheran catechesis. We strongly encourage you to bring matters of concern to your spiritual leader, your Pastor. He has been trained in theological matters and has been given special training to help connect you with resources that will strengthen your faith. What if you don't have a Pastor? We encourage you to contact a church from our directory in your local area and speak with the Pastor. If you are dealing with issues that might include mental or physical issues, we still strongly encourage you to contact your Pastor - as these issues often have a spiritual compoent. We also encourage you, if you are dealing with mental health issues, to contact a Christian counselor. Check with your insurance company or EAP to see if mental health benefits are available to you. If you can not afford a counselor, these agencies often have sliding scale so that you can get the help that you need. Note that finding a Lutheran counsellor may be difficult and the Northern Illinois District of the LCMS does not maintain lists of counsellors. The Lutheran Child and Family Services website lists Lutheran counselors available in the Chicagoland area. We encourage you to contact them first to see if they are a good fit for you. If you are in the DuPage county area, you may wish to check out Samaritan's Interfaith or Chicago Christian Counseling. You may find a Christian Counsellor near you at: http://www.aacc.net/resources/find-a-counselor/. Since everyone's past experiences and struggles are different, we can not endorse any of these agencies and encourage you to use due diligence in selecting a counselor. Ask for accreditations, certifications, and training and if they have experience in your specific area of need. If not, ask for a recommendation to someone who has the qualifications specific to your need. The White Rose Ministries would like to assist you in finding a church home or offer encouragement to you. We also will help you begin your faith journey by providing you with a free gift, a copy of The Holy Bible. Feel free to contact us at any time via Instant Messenger on AOL at: wrmus, via email through our contact form, or by telephone at (866) 450-3315. May God bless you!
