Dr. Martin Luther firmly believed that proper catechesis, or teaching of the one true faith, is a life long endeavor. It begins at home with children as the head of the household shares with them the chief parts of our Christian faith. Catechesis continues in the church as Pastors and other believers strong in the faith build upon the Christian instruction begun by
faithful parents. Luther wrote the Small Catechism in 1529 to aid not only in the training of children, but people of all ages. It was intended for daily use by all Christians as it helps us remember what we believe, teach and confess... what we hold on to so dearly. |
