Rider's Comments: This 297-acre preserve west of Joliet on Route 59 north of Route 52 has three miles of trails that run on high bluffs along the river and through woodland. From the Grinton Grove parking area, a .5-mile packed earth loop trail heads north through an oak/maple woodland to Shorewood Grove where it connects to a 1-mile loop trail that continues north to Hidden Shelter. The eastern side of these loop trails offers a climb first up and then along a bluff high above the river for a great view.   The trails have been recently paved to make riding so much easier.
