Rider's Comments: This 6.3-mile path loops through the community of Zion. Four miles of the trail is an off-road bikeway while 2.3 miles is on the street. The western portion of the trail serves as part of the North Shore Bike Path (see diagram) and runs along Galilee Avenue from Carmel Boulevard to 17th Street. Here the North Shore Path continues north while the Zion Bike Path splits right (east). Staying right, at the top of the hill follow the "bike path" sign east on Ravine Drive.

The bike route continues on as Ravine Drive for a short distance until the intersection of 18th and Gideon Streets. Here the path leaves the street and enters Beulah Park Nature Area. This area is a bit hilly and curvy but very pretty and quiet.

The path continues through the park to 17th Street, where there is a fairly steep hill to climb. The path runs along 17th street east for a couple of blocks to Sheridan Road. This is a busy highway so be very careful crossing the street. Continue east on 17th Street to Park Avenue. Just past Park Avenue the path leaves the street again, heading south through Edina Park.

After leaving Edina Park, the path enters the woods for a distance. It then curves west and comes to a stop at Sheridan Road and Carmel Boulevard. Ride to the left along Sheridan for a half block to 33rd Street. Cross over Sheridan and head right (west) 1 block to Elisha Avenue. Again turn right on Elisha 1 block to 32nd Street. Continue west several blocks through residential neighborhoods until the street ends temporarily at Sharon Park. Head right for a short distance to an asphalt path that heads down a small ravine and crosses over a wooden bridge. Follow the trail back to 32nd Street and continue west. Soon you'll cross over Galilee Avenue and intersect the North Shore Bike Path, which completes the 6.3-mile loop.
